Gordon E. Ahlstedt, 88, formerly of Salina, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Bethany Home, Lindsborg, KS. Gordon was born November 14, 1931 in San Jose, CA. He is the son of the late Emery and Hazel (Swedberg) Ahlstedt. Gordon was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. His career was spent as an accountant and comptroller at The Miller Grain Co., The Shaver Partnership and Brown Mackie College. During his retirement years, Gordon was very involved with the family fireworks stand. He is survived by his daughter: Debra Smith (Keith) of Bavaria, KS; son: David Ahlstedt (Lynette) of Newton, KS; sister: Eleanor Ostlind of Lindsborg, KS; brothers: Earl Ahlstedt of Lindsborg, KS, and Robert Ahlstedt (Cathy)of Lindsborg, KS; as well as grandchildren: Tori Price (Adam), of Wichita, KS, Gavin Smith (Lauren), of Wichita, KS, Matt Ahlstedt, of Hutchinson, KS, Shannon Kaufman (Evan), of Dayton, OH, and Brandon Ahlstedt, of Newton, KS; and 3 great grandchildren. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on January 4, 2020 at Salemsborg Lutheran Cemetery, with Pastor David Strommen, officiating. Memorials may be made to American Legion Emil Pickall Kansas Post 140, VFW, The Kansas Boys State Foundation and Bethany Home. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
